The upcoming Italian Super Cup will once again take place in Saudi Arabia, marking the fourth occasion the country has hosted the event, but this time the tournament will be held in December rather than January, the president of Lega Serie A confirmed on Tuesday.
Serie A chief Ezio Simonelli revealed that the semi-finals are scheduled for December 18 and 19, with the final to follow on December 22.
“We haven’t finalised the venue yet—it will be either Riyadh or Jeddah. The decision lies with the Saudi organisers,” Simonelli said. “I’d prefer Jeddah, but it’s not up to us.”
Since 2023, the Supercoppa Italiana has featured four clubs: the Serie A champions and runners-up, along with the Italian Cup winners and runners-up.
This year’s competition will include Serie A titleholders Napoli, runners-up Inter Milan, Coppa Italia winners Bologna, and finalists AC Milan.

AC Milan lifted the most recent Super Cup in January by defeating Inter 3-2, their first trophy since 2022.
Simonelli also disclosed that discussions are underway about potentially moving a Serie A fixture between AC Milan and Como to Australia in February 2025.
“We’ve officially requested approval from the Italian Football Federation, UEFA, and FIFA,” he said. “It’s a long and complicated process, but so far, there’s been no opposition.”
The proposal comes as a result of Milan’s San Siro stadium being scheduled for closure ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
“With San Siro unavailable, we have to find another venue, so we’re exploring the chance to turn this challenge into an opportunity to promote Italian football internationally,” Simonelli added.
