Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has characterised the opposition Peoples Democratic Party as a political platform that is slowly disappearing, adding that the masses should prevent the PDP from regaining power.
During a conversation with reporters, Bala Ibrahim, the APC’s National Publicity Director, said the masses must prevent the opposition from regaining office because of the alleged decay it left behind after 16 years in power.
“Nigeria was still suffering from the rot of the 16-year misrule of the PDP,” he remarked. “The party has left. Are people thinking that these clowns will take over this nation once more? This is just the beginning, I assure you. At the APC, we’re having fun with the show.
“The party is incompetent at handling anything, even itself. The current situation has demonstrated that God saved Nigerians by forcing them out of power. “If you dig into the specifics of the issues in that party, there are more to come.
“They ought to come and learn how to play politics at our APC Progressive Institute, which was established by Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC’s national chairman. They will be taught how to play politics without bitterness.”

Ibrahim questioned, “How is the APC responsible for the crisis that is happening at Wadata Plaza (PDP headquarters in Abuja)?” about the numerous accusations made by President Bola Tinubu’s detractors that the APC was involved in the PDP and other opposition parties’ problems. We won’t even remain nearby. What right do they have to blame us for their problems? How does the APC relate to having two different chairmen and secretaries, or whatever they appear to have?
“They are unable to administer anything because they just do not know how to do it. Does anyone among the demonstrators have an APC card? Who among those responsible for the situation is professing to be loyal to the APC? Nothing. It is inside of them.”
Meanwhile, top PDP leaders from the North East zonal caucus convened in Bauchi to discuss reconciliation efforts and plans for the party’s future, including the 2027 elections, with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar conspicuously missing. All three of the region’s PDP governors attended the Thursday meeting.
They are Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.
Senators, members of the House of Representatives, members of the state legislature from the zone, and members of the PDP Reconciliation Committee, which was headed by former National Secretary Olagunsoye Oyinlola, were also present.
