President Bola Tinubu has instructed ministers to start a public performance evaluation next week to enhance transparency and inform Nigerians about government initiatives.

Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, communicated this instruction during a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday.

He said the review will commence at the national press centre, where ministers will present updates on their activities and performance. He noted that the previous year, only 25 out of more than 40 ministers participated in the inaugural review, during which they reported on their work and plans.

He promised that this year’s edition would be more thorough, with all ministers required to participate in the upcoming months.

“This year, we are kick-starting another edition of the ministerial press briefing that usually occurs at the national press centre.

“The ministerial briefing, as directed by Mr President, is commencing next week, and in the next couple of months, by the time the administration is two years in office, we will have heard from all government ministers.

“This is important and is in line with the desire of president Bola Tinubu to always inform Nigerians about what the government is doing.” Idris said.
