TotalEnergies announced on Thursday that it will feature on the Ineos Grenadiers’ jerseys at this year’s Tour de France, while continuing as the title sponsor of its own French cycling team.
The energy giant, involved with the French team based in western France since 2016, dispelled recent speculation about a full merger with Ineos. TotalEnergies reaffirmed its commitment to Jean-René Bernaudeau’s team, confirming support through the 2026 season and plans to discuss further collaboration for 2027 after the Tour de France.
In addition to team sponsorship, TotalEnergies revealed a new three-year agreement to sponsor both the Tour de France and its women’s edition.
The company emphasised that its sponsorship agreements with both cycling teams are purely commercial, ensuring no influence over sporting decisions or race strategies. It said internal rules are in place to guarantee the independence of each team, a principle monitored by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) under its regulations.
