Troops of the 22 Armoured Brigade, operating from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Patigi have successfully raided a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara state.

The operation followed credible intelligence on Saturday, June 21, 2025 around the kidnappers’ enclave on the outskirts of Latandaji Village in Patigi.

News Central gathered that the troops encountered mild resistance during the mission but quickly overpowered the miscreants with superior firepower.

The raid led to the rescue of two kidnap victims, identified as Mr. Amos Moses and Mr. Philip Michael. Additionally, eight suspected kidnappers were apprehended during the operation.

One individual, identified as Mr. Mohammed Mohammed, sustained gunshot wounds during the exchange of fire. He was immediately moved to Bachita Teaching Hospital for medical treatment.

The security officers recovered two motorcycles and two expended cartridge shells, believed to have been used by the suspects. The arrested individuals are currently in military custody and undergoing preliminary investigation. They will be handed over to appropriate authorities for prosecution.

The Nigerian Army has reiterated its commitment to ridding communities of criminal elements and restoring peace and security across the country. It also called on the public to continue providing actionable intelligence to security agencies to support ongoing operations.

The Army resolved to dismantle kidnapping networks and safeguard lives and property in all areas of deployment.
