US President Donald Trump has declared that Israel and Iran have reached an agreement on a phased ceasefire set to begin on Tuesday, which he said would mark an “official end” to the ongoing conflict.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday evening, Trump wrote: “It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE.”
However, neither Israeli nor Iranian officials have issued any immediate confirmation of the deal.
According to Trump’s statement, the ceasefire is to be implemented in stages over a 24-hour period, starting at approximately 0400 GMT on Tuesday. Iran is set to halt all military activity first, followed by Israel 12 hours later.

“Upon the 24th hour, an official end to the 12-day war will be saluted by the world,” Trump declared, adding that both nations had pledged to remain “peaceful and respectful” throughout each phase of the process.
The announcement follows a fresh escalation in hostilities earlier on Monday, when Iran launched strikes against a US military base in Qatar. Trump dismissed the attack as a “weak” response to recent American air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend.
The conflict, which began when Israel launched a major unprovoked offensive in June 13, has seen both countries repeatedly exchange air strikes in a rapidly intensifying cycle of violence.
