In snippets of an interview made public on Monday, President Donald Trump claimed that under his US takeover plan, Palestinians would not have the right to return to Gaza, calling his idea a “real estate development for the future.”
Trump told Bret Baier of Fox News Channel that “I would own it” and that, under the idea that the Arab world has rejected, there may be up to six distinct locations for Palestinians to reside outside of Gaza.
Trump responded, “No, they wouldn’t, because they’re going to have much better housing,” when Baier questioned whether the Palestinians would be allowed to return to the area.
“In other words, I’m talking about building a permanent place for them because if they have to return now, it’ll be years before you could ever — it’s not habitable.”

Palestinians were outraged when Trump initially unveiled the shocking Gaza proposal on Tuesday during a joint news conference with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The US president pushed for the evacuation of Palestinians from Gaza, which has been destroyed by the Israel-Hamas conflict, and their relocation to Egypt and Jordan.
Trump stated that he would create “beautiful communities” for the more than two million Palestinians who reside in Gaza in the Fox interview, which will air on Monday after the first part was played before Sunday’s Super Bowl.
“It can be two, five, or six. However, we’ll construct safe neighbourhoods a short distance from their current location, which is where all of this risk exists.
“I would own this in the interim. Consider it a future real estate development. It would be a lovely plot of property. No large sum of money was spent,” Trump said.
