The United States Department of State has established a continuous 24-hour task force to assist Americans in the Middle East amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce announced on Tuesday that this “Middle East Task Force” will coordinate support for US citizens, diplomatic missions, personnel, and diplomatic engagement in the region.

Bruce noted during a press briefing that the task force has been operational for the past week to keep US citizens informed.
As part of its efforts, the task force has issued over 30 security alerts for countries in the region and updated travel advisories specifically for Iraq and Israel.
