Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has mentioned that ending her marriage with her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, was the best decision she has ever made.
She shared this when giving advice to another single mother who sought her help. The single mother had privately contacted her through her Instagram direct messages, asking how she managed when her ex-partner left her and their child.
In response, the actress clarified that she was the one who decided to end the marriage for the sake of herself and her child, not the other way around.
Dikeh wrote: “First and foremost, I was the one who chose to walk away from my marriage, not the other way around. I needed to escape a difficult situation, not just for my own sake, but for my child as well. Best decision I ever made.”
She told the single mother that she has the potential to transform into the person she dreams of being by dedicating herself to personal development and investing in herself.
Sharing the message on her Instagram page, Dikeh wrote, “Dear single mothers, I don’t have a manual for these things. I am neither a pro in this movement.
“My biggest teacher has been love. I just let God do his thing, and his thing is enough for me. Draw strength from God, most especially keep your family matters private.”
Tonto Dikeh’s marriage to Olakunle Churchill ended in 2017 on grounds of infidelity and domesetic violence. The ex-couple has a son together.
