Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory’s Minister, claims he has no regrets about backing President Bola Tinubu in the general elections of 2023.
He served eight years as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) leader of the oil-rich Rivers State before being appointed as the FCT Minister in the All Progressives Congress, APC-led administration of President Bola Tinubu.
He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for believing in him during a Thanksgiving service held in Ochigba by the PDP in the Rivers State’s Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas.
Wike claimed to have received threats before the presidential election for his support of Tinubu, and he promised to follow through if given the chance again.
“I have no regrets and no excuses. “I will do the same thing if the opportunity arises,” he declared.
He also refuted claims of land snatching made against him by several Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, residents.
Wike stated that those who own government land must act morally or risk having their land parcels removed, adding that the proper actions must be taken.
The minister referred to the accusation of land grabbing against him as absurd.
“How would I go and seize what I am responsible for? I am in charge of lands in Abuja. We have to appreciate the president because we wouldn’t have known if he hadn’t given us this chance. We considered it hard here in Rivers State.
“You are aware that you interact with all Nigerians when you visit the capital. If you want to call me whatever you want, I can guarantee that the proper thing will always be done, regardless of the cries you make or the propaganda you spread,” he added.
