Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructure development during the commissioning of the Aguma Palace-Radio Nigeria-News Market Road on Friday.
This event marks the 16th project commissioning the president has attended within a short period, underscoring a strong focus on enhancing the FCT.
During his address, Minister Wike commented on the perceived public reaction to these rapid developments. “Mr. President, today is the 16th day that you have devoted time to personally participate in the commissioning ceremonies,” Wike stated.

He then remarked on what he perceived as political discontent, saying, “I never knew that people were so pained that so many things are going on very well in their city. Until last night, when I was watching Politics Today, I saw one of the political aspirants of the coalition party so pained by the fact that they are angry that the president, the vice president, the senate president, the speaker, and the secretary to the government of the federation are coming to commission projects, yet they say Nigerians are angry.”
Wike directly addressed the crowd present at the commissioning, asking, “Are you angry?” The gathered residents of Gwagwalada responded with a resounding “No.”
He reiterated the question, “Gwagwalada people, are you angry?” to which the crowd again affirmed their positive sentiment, emphatically stating, “No.”
The commissioning of the Aguma Palace-Radio Nigeria-News Market Road is another step in the FCT administration’s ongoing efforts to upgrade infrastructure across the capital territory, reflecting the concentrated drive for development under the current administration.
