The gruesome massacre of people in Yelewata, Guma LG of Benue state which claimed scores of lives, wiping out entire families in one fell swoop has raised so much concern.

The incident occurred less than 48 hours after the murder of 25 persons in Mtswenem and Akondotyough Bawa communities in Makurdi LGA.

The Federal Government has deployed security forces and humanitarian aid to the affected areas, while calls for justice grow louder across the country.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to visit Benue on Wednesday, as part of efforts to assess the situation firsthand and reassure grieving communities of the government’s commitment to security and peace.
