Ivorian football legend Kolo Toure has returned to the English football as a coach with Leicester City. Toure joins Brendan Rodgers’ backroom staff as first team coach of the former Premier League champions.
The 37-year-old won the Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester City but narrowly missed out from winning it with Rodgers at Liverpool in 2014.
Leicester City’s official website made the announcement, “Joining the Club’s established team of first team staff will be assistant manager, Chris Davies; first team fitness coach, Glen Driscoll; and first team coach, Kolo Touré,” read a statement from the club. Toure won the African Cup of Nations in 2015, scoring a penalty in shootout win over Ghana before working as an assistant coach with the Elephants in an ultimately unsuccessful World Cup qualification campaign for Russia 2018.
