President Bola Tinubu inaugurated his 45-member cabinet on Monday after they were screened by the Senate. Among the ministers-designate is Professor Tahir Mamman, aged 69, who was sworn in as the Minister of Education by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola.

  1. Born on July 7, 1954, Tahir Mamman has a rich history.
  2. He earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from Ahmadu Bello University in 1983.
  3. His pursuit of knowledge led him to achieve MSc and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Warwick, England.
  4. With a heart for family, he is a proud father of nine children.
  5. As the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria from Adamawa State, he holds the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger.
  6. He contested the Adamawa State governorship election in 2014 under the All Progressives Congress.
  7. Currently, he holds the esteemed position of Vice Chancellor at Baze University, Abuja, a private tertiary institution founded in 2011.
  8. He displayed leadership as the Director General of the Nigerian Law School from 2005-2013.
  9. Honouring tradition, Mamman holds chieftaincy titles including Dan Ruwata Adamawa Emirate and Dokajin Mubi of Adamawa State.
