BREAKING Buhari Meets APC Governors Over Party Crisis (News Central TV)

Ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress on Saturday, March 26, 2022, President Muhammadu Buhari is holding a closed-door meeting with the governors of the ruling APC at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The governors, under the aegis of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), were led to the meeting by their Chairman, who is the Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu.
They arrived at the Presidential Villa after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting earlier chaired by the President.

Reports reaching News Central suggest the meeting was convened towards reaching a consensus ahead of Saturday’s National Convention of the ruling party, following signs of disagreements among party stakeholders over the choice of personalities purportedly endorsed by the President.

Buhari is also expected to meet with the seven aspirants vying for the office of national chairman of the All Progressives Congress at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

They include Niger-East lawmaker, Senator Sani Musa; a former governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura; a former governor of Benue State, George Akume; an ex-governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari; another former governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu; Saliu Mustapha and Mohammed Etsu.

The aspirants had earlier been screened by the Masari-led screening committee which took place at the Katsina State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Tuesday at 10pm.
Although the nitty-gritty of Wednesday’s meeting couldn’t be officially confirmed as of the time of filing this report, it is believed that the President will either disclose his consensus plans or allow an open race.
