Phil-Manuel Kpobi, a brilliant 12-year-old student from Sterling International School in Ghana, has developed an innovative mobile application aimed at directly connecting farmers with traders. This impressive feat, reported by Graphic Online, showcases his talent for solving real-world problems through technology.

Phil, who is also a member of the Ghana Code Club, built his creation, aptly named the “Agro App,” using the Python-based Flet framework. The application’s core purpose is to streamline the entire farm-to-market journey, helping to reduce post-harvest losses for farmers and ensuring fair pricing for both producers and buyers.

The “Agro App” boasts several remarkable features designed to achieve these goals:

Online Produce Listings: Farmers can effortlessly list their available crops for sale, making their produce visible to a wider market.

Location-Based Search: Traders can easily discover nearby farms and products, optimising their sourcing process.

Built-In Chat: The app includes a real-time messaging system, fostering smooth and direct communication between farmers and buyers.

Order and Delivery Tracking: Users can keep tabs on their transactions, from the moment an order is placed until its delivery.

Integrated Mobile Payments: Secure payments are facilitated directly through local mobile money platforms, ensuring convenience and trust.

Photo Uploads: Farmers have the ability to upload images of their produce, helping to attract more buyers and showcase their goods.

Phil-Manuel’s ingenuity, coupled with his impressive coding skills and a genuine passion for tackling practical challenges through technology, has deservedly earned him widespread recognition.
