Governor of Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria, Aminu Bello Masari has disclosed that most of the abducted boys of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara have been revealed.
Masari, in a televised interview on national television Channel, NTA, said 344 of the schoolboys have been freed with some of them are yet to regain freedom.
“We have recovered most of the boys. It’s not all of them,” he said.
More than 500 boys were kidnapped in their school hostels on the night of Friday December 11th, leaving the state and country in pandemonium.
The State government said afterwards that 333 students were kidnapped, a statement denied by one of the escapees from the abductors, who stated that 520 of them were taken away.
Boko Haram has laid claim to the abduction and demanded ransom from the Nigerian government.
More details are expected from the Nigerian and Katsina State government soon.
