Heavy Gunfire Heard Near Presidential Palace in Niamey

There are reports of heavy gunfire near Niger’s capital Niamey in the early hours of Wednesday. The swearing-in of the new President, Mohamed Bazoum, is only days away.

Eyewitness narrate to newsmen that there have been shots fired from heavy and light weapons lasting 15 minutes before silence reigned again.
