Bandits Attack Kaduna Church, Kill Eight

Not less than eight people have been killed in an attack on Haske Baptist Church in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State with several worshippers abducted.

An unspecified number of worshippers also sustained varying degrees of injuries with a medical doctor, Zakariah Dogo Yaro of the Kaduna State Ministry of Health, among those killed during the incident.

The church, located in Manini Tasha village, Kuriga Ward of the local government area, was attacked around on Sunday by heavily-armed bandits, who surrounded the church and started shooting sporadically at worshipers who scampered for safety in different directions.

The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruban has confirmed the incident whilst condemning the attack in the strongest terms. He however did not indicate measures being taken to secure the community.
