Senegal’s Sadio Mane has been crowned the African Footballer of the Year at a glittering 2022 Caf Awards ceremony organised by the Confederation of African Football in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.
The awards returned for the first time in three years after being suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic
The 30-year-old retains the crown he won in 2019.
The women’s honour also went to the last winner in 2019 – Asisat Oshoala.
Senegal won five of the seven men’s awards, including team of the year, with Aliou Cissé named coach of the year.
South Africa’s Desiree Ellis won the female coach of the year.
