Despite security concerns in its eastern jungles, the Democratic Republic of Congo is set to join the East African Community as its newest member (EAC).
Ibrahim Andora, a Fellow at the Centre for African Prosperity, told News Central that DR Congo’s membership will boost the country’s economy as well as the EAC’s, with the community’s GDP expected to rise by $50 billion.
He went on to say that this measure will help to strengthen regional integration.
