A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Langas, Uasin Gishu County.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday March 5, led to the arrest of the troop on Sunday by detectives after a digital and cyber forensics tracing operation.
George Kinoti, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya confirmed the incident in a statement.
“The minor who went home at around 7:30pm last night, told her worried mother that she had reported home late because she had been held hostage by a man who took advantage of her.
“Upon further interrogation, the mother noticed blood stains on her daughter’s undergarments and pleaded with her to reveal the identity of the perpetrator,” he said.
After a digital and cyber forensics tracing operation, the suspect was apprehended at an estate within Eldoret town, where he was correctly recognised by the 12-year old girl.
He is being held in police custody pending his arraignment.
