A Nigerian woman who is facing trial for the suspected murder of a businessman has been crowned Miss Cell 2022, at a Prison Beauty Pageant in Kirikiri prison, Lagos.

Chidinma Ojukwu, whose case sparked lots of reactions on the media and across the country and has pleaded not guilty to eight counts of murder, won the Prison Beauty Pageant amid calls from Nigerians that she should be prosecuted.

Recall that Super TV boss Usifo Ataga was stabbed to death last June and his case has been closely monitored across the West-African nation.

In images which surfaced on social media on Thursday, Ojukwu was seen wearing a crown, which the correctional services chief said was part of the prison’s International Women’s Day celebrations.
