Asisat Oshoala – Nigerian professional footballer, striker for Primera División club FC Barcelona Femení who also captains the Nigerian women’s national team has extended her contract with the club.
The extension of Oshoala was announced through the club’s social media platforms on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
The 27-year-old soccer star inked the deal with Barcelona president Joan Laporta and women’s team manager Xavier Puig.
In a message on the official Barcelona website, Oshoala revealed the reason she chose to extend her contract with the club.
She said, “I am very happy to continue in the best team in the world. Not only because of their football, you look outside the field of play, and it is because of how they treat the players to keep improving.”
“I’m a striker and I want to continue scoring more goals. Love it. The goal is to keep growing and be happy.”
In a video on the official Barcelona Femeni Twitter handle, Oshoala stated that she was excited to go on with the club.
With an incredible tally since she joined Barcelona from Chinese outfit Dalian Quanjian on January 31, 2019, Oshoala is regarded as one of the greatest African players of all-time.
