The Pride Inn chain of hotels has bought a new camp, the Pride Inn Azure luxury Mara camp, capturing a piece of the game reserve’s growing popularity, which now receives up to 2,700 visitors per day during peak season.

This comes as tourism continues to improve after the COVID-19 containment measures were eased.

The camp offers 16 luxury cottages and 14 luxury tented camps spread across 25 acres of land.

The company now operates seven hotels in Narok, Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kwale counties, with plans to expand to ten more counties within the next three years.

Hasnain Noorani, the Group’s Managing Director, remarked during the official announcement of the acquisition that the camp is also focused on sustainable energy and is totally powered by solar heating.

“One of the best things about the camp is that each of the cottages has luxury indoor showers, bathtubs and each of the tents has outdoor showers, the interior has been carefully selected to ensure Bushfield is maintained and comfort is given to our customers.”

In addition, the camp includes conference space as it attempts to increase revenue by focusing on meetings, incentive travel, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE).

Noorani praised the government for improving the country’s infrastructure, citing the Nairobi highway, Dongo Kundu bypass, and Changamwe interchange as examples of projects that will make it easier to navigate around the country’s major cities.

“With the expressway, Nairobi is going to be a MICE hub, it is going to grow and enable the entire country to grow, the Dongo Kundu bypass and change interchange are also going to change the coast allowing accessibility and freedom of movement,” he remarked
