The 2024 edition of the Social Media Awards was unveiled on Thursday at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, with several celebrities gracing the occasion.
The Social Media Award Nigeria 2024 (SMA) is designed to recognise outstanding achievements and contributions in social media and to celebrate the fantastic work done by individuals and organisations using social media in innovative and impactful ways.
Speaking to Newscentral TV at the event, the awards Convener, Emmanuel Nwafor, said it was “important to recognise the young ones who are doing great work on the social media space” as well as brands who try to “encourage the youths” by using influencers for their various promotions.
Also, Eni Adeoluwa, who is scheduled to host the main event later in the year, described the awards as “reinforcing positivity”, hoping that it will cement its place in the industry to reward hard work and excellence.
The 2024 Social Media Awards will be held on November 23 at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos. Nominations will open on September 12 and close on September 23. Voting will begin on the same day and end on October 30.
