Another man held in captivity, chained and locked by his family has been rescued in Kano State, Nigeria.
News Central gathered that 55-year-old Murtala Muhammad had been in chains for 30 years before he was rescued by the police in Kano at Rogo Village.
There are indications that Muhammad had been chained by his family for mental health reasons.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the incident said information about the rescue remains sketchy and he is still waiting for a report from the Divisional Police Officer of the area.
The picture of the man going viral on social media showed that one of his feet was bound to a heavy log in a room.
He was rescued with the help of Human Rights Network who alerted security operatives about his plight in the area.
Muhammad Murtala’s rescue is the third of its kind in Kano state in less than seven days.

A few days ago, 40-year-old Ibrahim Lawan held in captivity for 15 years in Sheka Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area was also rescued by the police in the state.
