As competition for the APC’s Presidential ticket intensifies, lawyer and Member of Lincolns Inn and member of the ruling party, Daniel Bwala has said the race is between Rotimi Amaechi and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Bwala, on Village Square Africa on News Central Television said Vice President Yemi Osinbajo doesn’t hold a chance in the race, as many may think.
“If the candidate will be chosen on consensus, it’s Rotimi Amaechi. If it will be down to voting, it’s between Asiwaju and Amaechi and Asiwaju will emerge. Professor Yemi Osinbajo doesn’t stand a chance,” Bwala said.
Bwala, however warned that a concensus candidate will be dangerous to the chances of the APC as he advised the party to go the route of allowing a candidate emerge through an election.
Supporters of Osinbajo and Tinubu Must Be Careful – Fouad Oki
Also on the show, a chieftain of the APC, Fouad Oki said the supporters of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Vice President, Osinbajo must be careful about how they’ve chosen to support their aspirants.
He said the mudslinging approach currently employed by supporters of Tinubu is not healthy for the party’s chances as they stand the threat of both missing out on the ticket and also hurt the party’s chances at the election.
Oki said he will rather stay mum on his support for any of the candidates as he knows them quite well and has avoided making a public recommendation so far.
He said Tinubu and Osinbajo’s relationship has never been on a helper-benefactor status, but is a symbiotic relationship.
