Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, named Senator Kashim Shettima as his running partner for the general elections of 2023 on Sunday.
In Daura, Katsina State, the hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari, he made the news on Sunday.
At the conclusion of an hour-long private meeting with Buhari at the President’s residence, Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, told media about the selection.

1.He was born in Maiduguri, Borno state capital on September 2, 1966.
2.He has a wife and three children.
3.He obtained BSc and MSc in Agricultural Economics from University of Maiduguri in 1989, and University of Ibadan in 1991.
4.He did his one-year compulsory NYSC in Calabar, Cross River state in 1990.
5.He joined University of Maiduguri as a lecturer in 1991.
6.He moved to the banking sector in 1993 and rose to become a General Manager in Zenith Bank in 2007.
7.From 2007 to 2011, he was commissioner for finance, local government and chieftaincy affairs, education, agriculture and health in Borno state.
8.He was governor of Borno state from 2011 to 2019.
9.In 2019, he was elected senator representing Borno Central at the National Assembly.
10.In 2013, he formally established youths volunteers (Civilian JTF) that has been assisting military in fighting Boko Haram terrorists.
