Police in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, South-East Nigeria have tear-gassed organisers of a rally in support of the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi.
The Saturday rally had members and fans of Peter Obi gathered along Mile 50 to embark on a walk to canvass support for their candidate but were stopped from going into the streets.
One of the supporters said some persons got injured when the security agency tried to disperse them.
Spokesman for the Ebonyi State Police Command, SP Chris Anyanwu is yet to respond to questions.
