The European Forum, held in the Greek capital, Athens has endorsed its final statement on Self-Determination for the Sahara people.
Besides the road map for action at the European level, the statement identified among the most important elements of foreign policy the question of Western Sahara, supporting the struggle of the Sahrawi people for freedom through a fair referendum to enable it to determine its own future.
This position came in the wake of strong interventions during the workshops and discussion sessions by parliamentarians, party leaders and European political figures, who praised the struggle of the Sahrawi people as an example of sacrifice for freedom and justice.
The speakers also focused on the role of the Sahrawi Republic as a state in ensuring security and stability in the region, which is the logic that Europe must deal with in its policy towards North Africa and the Sahel.
The Polisario Front participated in the work of the European Forum at the official invitation of the organisers of the Forum, with a delegation led by its representative in Spain, Abdullah Al-Arabi, accompanied by member of the representation in Europe and the European Union, Basiri Moulay Al Hasan, where the delegation was warmly welcomed by the participants and had the opportunity to meet with many European parties and personalities taking part in the event.
