Idrissa Gana Gueye has returned to fitness, according to Everton manager Frank Lampard. The 33-year-old Senegal midfielder was injured during Everton’s 2-0 Premier League loss to Leicester City at Goodison Park on November 5.
Lampard spoke about Gueye and Amadou Onana’s fitness ahead of Everton’s return to league action against Bournemouth earlier on Saturday.
Despite his injury, Gueye was named to Senegal’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar by coach Aliou Cisse, who will benefit from Lampard’s announcement as Senegal prepares to face hosts Qatar, the Netherlands, and Ecuador.
Gueye has yet to score in nine Premier League appearances for Everton since joining from Paris Saint-Germain at the start of the season.
Last season, he participated in 26 Ligue 1 games for PSG, scoring three goals and contributing one assist.
