Mohammed Kudus has been a standout for Ghana’s Black Stars during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The 22-year-old midfielder scored twice, including the game-winning goal, as the Black Stars defeated South Korea 3-2 in Group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
According to rumours, Arsenal and Tottenham have already made contact about signing him. According to 90Min, the north London rivals are among a slew of clubs interested in the 22-year-old. They claim that Newcastle United have inquired about Kudus and that Everton is still interested after coming close to buying him in the summer.
Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Lyon, Napoli, and Atletico Madrid are also rumoured to be interested in signing Kudus. But who really is Mohammed Kudus?
Mohammed Kudus joined the Danish club Nordsjaelland in January 2018 from the Ghanaian Right to Dream Academy, which he joined at the age of ten, along with two teammates, Ibrahim Sadiq and Gideon Mensah.
Kudus made his Nordsjlland debut just three days after his 18th birthday, in a 2-0 loss to Brondby IF. He started as a striker from the start but was replaced at halftime. With his debut, Mohammed Kudus became the club’s ninth youngest player to make a debut.
Mohammed Kudus signed a five-year contract with Eredivisie club Ajax on July 16, 2020, for €9 million. On September 20, he made his official debut for the club in a league match against RKC Waalwijk. Kudus was later described as a player with “great potential” by head coach Erik ten Hag. He kept up his great play. In his first three games, he scored one goal and helped on three others. However, his debut in the UEFA Champions League for the home encounter against Liverpool on October 21, 2020, was unlucky. Kudus was replaced after only six minutes due to a meniscus injury that would keep him out for several months.
In a 4-0 win over Rangers on September 7, 2022, Mohammed Kudus scored his first Champions League goal.
He has been a member of the Ghana national team since 2019 and has scored multiple goals.
