Newly promoted Proline will be looking to claim a place in the record books when they face Bright Stars in the final of the 2019 Uganda FA Cup Final at the Masaka Recreational Stadium on Saturday 25 May.
Head coaches of the respective clubs; Shafiq Bisaso of Proline and Fred Kajoba of Bright Stars were hosted in the official pre-match press conference at FUFA House on Wednesday.
Both coaches expressed their desire and willingness to face each other in the final as history is being made.
”I am not looking at history but we believe this is our time as Proline Football Club. We are facing a big team who have a good coach and but we are ready to battle them” said Bisaso. “Time will matter not history. We respect them but do not fear them at all. They do not know our weak points but they know our strong points. This is the best time we have had as Proline. We are motivated by the FUFA Big league final win we had over Wakiso Giants.”
Responding Kajoba said his team are not under any pressure despite being favourites. ”I begin by congratulating my fellow coach at Proline for bringing the club back to the top flight division. This is where they belong.
Bright Stars will be playing in their first ever Uganda Cup final but personally, this is my third final. As a team, we are ready to play in the finals. There is no pressure at all. Proline knows what is going to happen in this final. We are focused and composed as well.”
This year’s final will be handled by FIFA Referee Ali Sabila Chelengat with the winner set to represent the country in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
