The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has denied reports stating that it raided the residence of the Presidential Candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement on Sunday, the commission described reports of the raid as ‘False’.
The statement read; “The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been drawn to a report circulating in the social media, claiming that operatives of the Commission raided the home of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, standard-bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming presidential elections and recovered a humongous sum of N400billion.”
“The Commission wishes to state that no such operation was carried out by the EFCC. The public is enjoined to disregard the report as fake news.”
Meanwhile, in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial centre, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will host its final presidential campaign rally on Tuesday.
The Publicity Secretary of the APC Lagos State Chapter, Hon. Seye Oladejo, made the announcement in a statement.
President Muhammadu Buhari, who would preside over the APC Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, is anticipated to attend the rally at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere.
APC National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu, PCC Director General and Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong, all APC State Governors, National Assembly members, and other prominent party figures are also anticipated.
