Popular South African musician, Costa Tsobanoglou, professionally known as Costa Titch, has passed away.
Costa Titch died while performing at the Ultra Music Festival in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The 27-year-old rapper collapsed on stage, got back up with the help of his bodyguard and continued to sing, but then collapsed again and had to be carried off stage.
Phil Mphela, a South African media personality, confirmed the news on Twitter late Saturday.
Costa Titch was well known for his contributions to the Amapiano genre, with popular hits like ‘Big Flexa’, ‘Nkalakatha’, and ‘Activate’, and had recently signed with Akon’s record label, Konvict Kulture.
His death is another huge loss for the South African music industry, following the shooting of his colleague Kiernan Forbes, also known as AKA, in February.
