President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his nod to the appointment of three executive directors for key positions within the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
Under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, the newly appointed Executive Directors are as follows:
- Ms. Vivian Richard Edet: Executive Director, Finance & Administration (NPA)
- Olalekan Badmus: Executive Director, Marine & Operations (NPA)
- Ibrahim Abba Umar: Executive Director, Engineering & Technical Services (NPA)
- Mr. Jibril Abba: Executive Director, Maritime Labour & Cabotage Services (NIMASA)
- Mr. Chudi Offodile: Executive Director, Finance & Administration (NIMASA)
- Fatai Taye Adeyemi: Executive Director, Operations (NIMASA)
The announcement, conveyed through a statement by the President’s Spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, emphasises President Tinubu’s expectation for the appointees to efficiently carry out their collective mandate. Their role is crucial in creating favourable conditions for enhancing the Marine & Blue Economy sector’s contribution to the nation’s GDP.
President Tinubu envisions that the appointed individuals will play a pivotal role in evolving the Nigerian economy into one that is labor-intensive and inclusive. This aligns with the goals outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda, fostering new opportunities for all Nigerians.
