The wave of insecurity in Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria has displaced 10 communities in Kidandan, Giwa Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State. The attacks have forced many residents to relocate to Kidandan main town and other safer communities in the LGA.
Among the affected villages are Nasarawan Hayin Doka, Mugaba, Dokan Yuna, Doka, Hayin Teacher and Tunburktu Hayin Dabino.
According to Councilor Representing Kidandan Ward, Abdullahi Ismail, in the last three weeks, troops have been conducting concerted operations around the axis but the bandits have not relented in their terror attacks.
A village head confirmed that many who fled due to constant intimidation by bandits left without their belongings and foodstuffs.
He also confirmed that soldiers killed at least six of the bandits on Tuesday. He added that though residents were happy with the killing of the bandits, they were hesitant to celebrate openly.
He pleaded with the authorities to deploy more security agents to protect other villages from being displaced.
