The embattled national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, has been arrested by the Nigerian Police Force.
Abure is currently detained by the police in the Edo state capital, Benin City, for allegations of attempted murder, brutal assault, and other charges.
News Central correspondent in Edo State confirmed from the Labour Party chairman in Ikpoba-Okha local government, Jeffery Emuakpor that Aburi had been arrested. Emuakpo however did not state the reasons for Abure’s arrest by the police.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force Zone 5, Tijani Momoh, also confirmed that the LP National chairman was arrested.
