The Nigerian Government has initiated the process of reviewing the country’s immigration and visa policy. The objective is to enhance the ease of conducting business within the nation.
Addressing stakeholders at a consultative meeting on Nigeria’s Visa Policy in Abuja on Saturday, Interior Minister Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo highlighted the necessity of eliminating barriers that impede foreign investors and tourists from accessing the country. He stressed the importance of striking a balance between the principle of reciprocity in visa issuance to foreigners and retaining economic benefits.
While restating the significance of technology in improving efficiency, he mentioned that the ministry has devised a workflow that will be presented for review and feedback, aiming for a comprehensive solution to facilitate Nigeria’s success.
