Kenya’s President William Ruto’s Finance Bill 2024 passed its second reading on Thursday, despite many protests across the country.
Members of Parliament (MPs) were split on the Bill, with 204 voting in favour and 115 against.
The debate on the Finance Bill started on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, as anti-tax protesters voiced their concerns about how the Bill could affect their lives if it became law.
