The death toll from Israeli strikes on Gaza City’s northern districts on Saturday has reached at least 42 people.
In Al-Shati, one of Gaza Strip’s historic refugee camps, 25 individuals lost their lives due to an Israeli strike on houses. Additionally, 17 Palestinians were killed in an attack on residences in the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood.
This recent deadly assault in the Gaza Strip has led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Expressing their concerns, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) stated that the aftermath of Friday’s strikes, which resulted in 25 casualties near their hospital, was described as “unprecedented” by their team in Gaza.
“There were piles of dead bodies, blood everywhere. Frankly, it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before,” said William Schomburg, Head of ICRC Rafah office.
The Israel-Gaza conflict has resulted in the deaths of at least 37,551 people leaving 85,911 others wounded since October 7. The number of deaths in Israel due to the Hamas-led attacks has been updated to 1,139, and there are still numerous individuals being held captive in Gaza.
