The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the results for the supplementary Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held on June 21 and 22, 2024.
This exam was for 28,835 candidates who couldn’t be biometrically verified during the main UTME in 2024 and those suspected of malpractice who were given another chance.
JAMB spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Friday.
He said the Board ensured strict security to prevent cheating, catching some impersonators who were handed over to the police.
“The exercise, which recorded a huge success nationwide, was marked by heightened security measures put in place by the Board to preclude any instance of examination infractions.
“As such, some nefarious characters, who had attempted to impersonate bona fide candidates were apprehended and handed over to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and prosecution,” the statement said.
JAMB emphasised the use of advanced technology to prevent cheating before, during, and after exams.
The Board advised candidates to avoid irregularities and not to seek fraudulent score upgrades or alter result sheets.
Candidates are advised to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019 using the phone number they registered with.
