The Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday said that four kidnapped travellers on the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway on Sunday have been rescued. The gunmen had reportedly ambushed the travellers between Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police and Ilisan township.
The command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, disclosed that three Indian nationals and a Nigerian were rescued along the Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway by the police anti-kidnapping team.
Odutola said, “One Mr Ola, Pujan, and two unnamed Indians have regained their freedom along Ogere inward Lagos Ibadan expressway. Efforts ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.”
The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, had on Monday ordered the anti-kidnapping unit to launch a manhunt to find the hoodlums who attacked and kidnapped the travellers.
