Joshua Zirkzee, the forward currently playing for Bologna, and Matthijs de Ligt, the defender representing Bayern Munich, have both expressed their interest in joining Manchester United this summer.
For Zirkzee, his current contract includes a release clause of €40 million, while United is expected to pay around €50 million for De Ligt’s acquisition.
Regarding the signing, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted on X this Sunday: “Manchester United have the green light from both Joshua Zirkzee and Matthijs de Ligt to join the club.
“Both players have spoken to Erik ten Hag with Man United now ready to advance on the club side in the coming days.
“It’s all approved on salary/commission also for Zirkzee.”
United’s transfer dealings have been on hold due to the uncertainty regarding Erik Hag’sag’s future as manager.
The ex-Ajax manager has recently agreed to a contract extension at Old Trafford.
