On Friday, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, 89, was crowned the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland. The new Olubadan was crowned at the Labosinde compound, where the family traditionally has the mandate to enthrone the king.
Several dignitaries witnessed the ceremony, including former Oyo State Governor Rashidi Ladoja, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar.
Governor Seyi Makinde is expected to officially present the office staff and other paraphernalia to the new monarch at the popular Mapo Hall coronation venue.
