Reports say Israeli military killed 17 individuals by targeting a UN school in the Nuseirat refugee camp where displaced Palestinians were taking shelter.
The bomb attack on the UN school injured over 80 individuals and it marks the fifth assault on a shelter within eight days. According to the Palestinian Civil Defence, the school sheltered thousands of displaced people. Most of the casualties were reportedly women and children.
Meanwhile, in response to the incident, the Israeli military said it targeted several terrorists operating in the vicinity of the UNRWA’s Abu Oraiban school building in Nuseirat.
The Israeli military has reportedly killed at least 90 people after repeated bombings of UN buildings, refugee camps and schools located in designated safe zones.
The primary relief agency in Gaza, UNRWA, said over half or 190 of its facilities have been bombed by the Israeli military and some have been targetted more than once.
Reacting to this development, the European Union, France, and Germany have called for an investigation into the strikes in schools.
