Lionel Messi will miss two matches for Inter Miami after injuring his right ankle during the 2024 Copa América final.
Miami coach, Gerardo “Tata” Martino, said this on Tuesday.
After a thorough examination, the MLS club announced that Messi had suffered a ligament injury in his right ankle and “his availability will be determined by periodic assessments and the progress of his recovery.”
Inter Miami will face Toronto FC and Chicago Fire on Wednesday and Saturday night respectively. The defence of their Leagues Cup title will begin on July 27 at Puebla.
