President Bola Tinubu has approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for Nigerian workers, with a commitment to review the national minimum wage law every three years.
The announcement was made by Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja during a meeting with leaders of the organised labour.
The meeting, attended by Comrade Joe Ajaero of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Festus Usifo of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), and other union members, is ongoing.
As of now, the labour leaders have not publicly responded to the N70,000 wage offer.
