Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has praised the youths of Bayelsa for not joining the nationwide protests against bad governance, which began today.
While many young people across Nigeria are protesting, Bayelsa youths have chosen to stay out of it. Governor Diri believes this decision shows their wisdom and desire for peace.
Diri made these remarks during his weekly prosperity walk, which aims to bring the government closer to the people.
During the walk, he discussed national issues and praised the youths for not protesting, stating their choice supports peace and stability.
Governor Diri claimed that the protests were encouraged by politicians who lost in the 2023 governorship election and wanted to create chaos in Bayelsa.
“These individuals do not have the welfare of the state at heart. They seek to disrupt the peace and progress we have been working hard to maintain,” he said.
Diri urged residents to avoid protests and focus on constructive activities that benefit the state. He stressed the importance of peace and development and reassured the people that the government is working to address their concerns.
